Privacy Policy
Last updated September 27, 2026
This policy explains what data Peersheep collects when you use our website and product, why we collect it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what we need to run the Service, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
01Who we are
Peersheep (“Peersheep”, “we”, “us”) provides competitive intelligence software at peersheep.com and app.peersheep.com (the “Service”). We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@peersheep.com.
02Data we collect
Account data. Your name, email address and password hash, or the email and profile details Google shares with us if you sign in with Google. We also store the workspace and team members you create.
Content you add. The competitor URLs you monitor, alert and notification settings, chat messages you send to the Peersheep agent, and the reports we generate for you.
Connected integrations. If you connect Slack or a webhook, we store the destination needed to deliver alerts. If you connect Gmail, see “Google user data” below.
Billing data. Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive your subscription status, plan, country and a customer reference. We never see or store your full card details.
Usage and device data. Log data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and actions taken in the app, used for security, debugging and aggregate product analytics. Our analytics are first-party and cookieless; we do not sell data or use advertising trackers.
Publicly available web data. The Service crawls public web pages that you ask it to monitor. These pages belong to third parties and are processed to detect changes.
03How we use your data
- To provide, operate and secure the Service, including monitoring, alerts and AI-generated briefings.
- To process subscriptions and send receipts and account emails (via Stripe and our email provider).
- To respond to support requests and communicate product updates you can opt out of.
- To improve the Service using aggregated, de-identified usage data.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
04Google user data
If you choose to connect Gmail, Peersheep requests read-only access (gmail.readonly) so it can find competitor newsletters, launch announcements and pricing emails in your inbox and summarise them for you. We only read messages to produce that intelligence for your workspace. We do not send, modify or delete email.
Peersheep's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Gmail data for advertising, do not sell it, do not use it to train generalised AI models, and do not allow humans to read it except with your explicit consent, for security purposes, or where required by law. You can disconnect Gmail at any time in settings or at myaccount.google.com/permissions, after which we delete stored tokens.
05AI processing
Peersheep uses large language models to classify page changes and write briefings. This processing runs on our infrastructure provider's AI platform. Your content is not used to train third-party foundation models.
07Retention
We keep account data and content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your workspace or account, we delete or anonymise associated data within 30 days, except where we must keep records (such as billing records) to meet legal obligations. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.
08Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. OAuth tokens are stored encrypted and access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your data we will notify you without undue delay.
09International transfers
Our providers operate globally, so your data may be processed outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses offered by those providers.
10Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, UK GDPR, the Nigeria Data Protection Act and US state laws such as the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent.
Email hello@peersheep.com and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
12Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.
13Changes to this policy
We will post updates on this page and change the date above. For material changes we will notify account owners by email before they take effect.
