PeersheepDocs

Quickstart

Sign up, add your first competitor, and choose where alerts go.

Setup takes a few minutes. By the end, Peersheep will be watching your competitors' key pages and will tell you when one of them changes.

Create an account

Sign up at app.peersheep.com/signup. Every account starts on the Free plan, with 100 credits a month and no credit card needed.

Add a competitor

Enter the competitor's company name and domain (for example acme.ai).

When you leave the domain field, Peersheep checks which common pages exist on that site and suggests them:

Page typePaths checked
Pricing/pricing
Features/features, /product
Changelog/changelog, /releases
Blog/blog, /news
Careers/careers, /jobs
Docs/docs, /documentation
Homepage/

Every suggestion starts selected. Click one to leave it out. Use Add another competitor to set up several at once.

The pages added during setup are crawled hourly. You can switch any page to daily, or add pages at other URLs, later from the Watchlist.

Choose where alerts go

Paste a Slack incoming webhook URL, an email address, or both. Slack is recommended, because high-signal alerts are most useful in a channel your team already reads. See Slack alerts for how to create a webhook.

You can skip this step and set it up later under Settings → Notifications.

Let the baseline finish

Peersheep's first crawl of each page records a baseline. Alerts start when a page changes after that.

What to expect

Competitor pages don't change every day, and Peersheep only alerts you on changes that matter. A quiet first few days is normal.

When a change does come in, you'll get a message like this:

Acme AI — pricing Acme raised its Pro plan from $20 to $25 per seat and removed the annual discount from the page. Existing customers aren't mentioned, so this likely applies to new sign-ups first.
